Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
■ Acceptance
By accessing or using CalcDom — including any calculator, page, feature, or content available at calcdom.com — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you (“User”) and CalcDom (“we,” “us,” “our”). They apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses the service.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this service. Please discontinue use immediately. Continued use of CalcDom after any updates to these terms constitutes your ongoing acceptance.
If you are using CalcDom on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms, and “you” refers to that organisation throughout this document.
■ Service Description
CalcDom provides 119 free online calculators across 18 clusters covering finance, health, tax, real estate, and utility categories, with targeted coverage for India, UAE, US, UK, EU, and global markets. Calculator clusters include India Loans, India Investment, India Tax, India Salary, UAE Finance, Global Business, Real Estate, Health & Fitness, Pregnancy & Parenting, Lifestyle & Wealth, Travel & Vehicle, Creator & Social, Environment & Energy, Crypto & DeFi, and more.
All calculations run entirely client-side in your browser using JavaScript executed locally on your device. No account, login, or registration is required to use any calculator. We do not transmit, store, or process your calculator inputs on our servers. Your financial, health, and personal data never leaves your device.
CalcDom may in future offer a Pro tier (Phase 2) with saved calculation history, PDF export, and API access, subject to separate terms and a paid subscription. Until that tier is launched, all features remain entirely free.
■ Permitted Use
You are permitted to use CalcDom for the following purposes:
- Personal financial planning — calculating your home loan EMI, projecting SIP returns, estimating your income tax liability, or comparing loan offers from different lenders.
- Educational purposes — teaching financial literacy, demonstrating how compound interest works, or raising health awareness using BMI, TDEE, or caloric deficit calculators in a classroom or workshop setting.
- Professional reference — using quick estimates during client presentations or internal planning meetings as directional ballpark figures, clearly stated as estimates rather than official calculations.
- Sharing calculator links — sharing direct links to specific CalcDom calculators with friends, family, or colleagues via message, email, or social media.
- Content and blogging — embedding links to CalcDom calculators in blog posts, articles, or newsletters, provided attribution to CalcDom is included (e.g. “via CalcDom” or “calculator by CalcDom”).
- Citing as a reference tool — referencing CalcDom in research, academic, or journalistic work with appropriate attribution to the source.
■ Prohibited Use
The following uses of CalcDom are expressly prohibited:
- Automated scraping or bot access — using bots, scrapers, crawlers, scripts, or any automated means to bulk-access, harvest, or extract content from CalcDom. This places unnecessary load on our infrastructure and circumvents normal usage terms.
- Redistributing calculator code — copying, republishing, mirroring, or redistributing CalcDom's calculator source code, logic implementations, or content without prior written permission. Our calculators and content are proprietary intellectual property.
- Presenting results as professional advice — providing CalcDom results to clients, patients, or third parties as certified financial, medical, tax, or legal advice. CalcDom results are estimates, not advice from a licensed professional. Misrepresenting them as such creates liability for you and harm to others.
- Official tax or regulatory filings — using CalcDom tax calculator results in official government filings, regulatory submissions, or legal documents without independent verification. Tax rates change, edge cases exist, and our calculators may not reflect the latest amendments or your complete deduction profile.
- Reverse-engineering algorithms — attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract proprietary calculator algorithms, formula logic, scoring systems, or design implementations. These are confidential and protected by applicable intellectual property law.
- Illegal purposes — using CalcDom for any purpose that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, including but not limited to tax evasion, money laundering, or fraud.
- Disrupting the service — interfering with or disrupting CalcDom's infrastructure, servers, networks, or the experience of other users by any technical or other means.
■ No Professional Advice — IMPORTANT
CalcDom calculators produce estimates and general reference figures only. Nothing on CalcDom constitutes financial, investment, tax, medical, legal, or any other form of professional advice. The following examples illustrate what our results mean — and what they do not mean:
- Financial example: An EMI calculator showing a monthly payment of ₹25,000 does not mean your bank will offer that exact figure. Your actual EMI depends on your credit score, the bank's current processing fees, the exact rate applicable on your application date, prepayment clauses, and whether your lender uses flat or reducing-balance compounding. Always confirm figures with your lender.
- Tax example: Our tax calculators use the latest published slabs and standard deductions, but they cannot account for your complete deduction profile, carry-forward losses from previous years, pending legislative amendments, surcharges, or cess changes mid-year. File your returns with a qualified chartered accountant or tax advisor.
- Health example: A BMI result of 24.5 is a population-level screening indicator, not a clinical diagnosis. It does not account for your muscle mass, bone density, age, ethnicity-specific thresholds, or any underlying medical condition. Consult a registered medical practitioner for health decisions.
- Real estate example: Stamp duty and registration fee calculations are based on published state or emirate rates at the time of writing. They may not include municipal surcharges, notary fees, registration charges, or recent policy changes. Verify with the relevant sub-registrar office or a registered property consultant before closing.
Always consult a qualified professional — a licensed financial advisor, certified accountant, registered medical practitioner, or qualified legal counsel — before making significant decisions based on any calculator result.
■ Accuracy Limitations
We strive for accuracy using industry-standard formulas and current published rates. However, every calculator type has inherent limitations that users must understand:
- Loan calculators — assume either flat-rate or reducing-balance interest as specified per calculator. Your actual lender may use a different compounding method, charge a processing fee that affects effective cost, or apply prepayment penalties not reflected in the estimate.
- Tax calculators — based on published tax slabs and rates at the time of last update. Mid-year policy changes, Finance Bill amendments, or state-level notifications may not be reflected immediately. Do not use these figures for final tax filings.
- Health calculators — use population-level statistical formulas (e.g. Mifflin-St Jeor for TDEE, WHO tables for BMI). Individual variation in metabolism, genetics, activity level, and medical status is expected and not modelled.
- Investment calculators — assume a fixed rate of return as entered by the user. Actual market returns vary significantly year to year. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Projections are illustrative, not a promise of returns.
- Currency — all calculations use the currency denomination set within each calculator (₹ INR, AED, USD, etc.). CalcDom does not use live exchange rates. Cross-currency comparisons require manual conversion using current rates.
CalcDom does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any calculation result. Users are strongly advised to verify results independently and with qualified professionals before making financial, health, legal, or tax decisions.
■ Intellectual Property
All content, design, source code, and calculator logic on CalcDom is owned by CalcDom and protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret protections. This includes but is not limited to:
- The Slate Institutional design system — including the visual language, typography hierarchy, colour palette, Signal Dot components, LCD panels, keycap elements, and section-label patterns.
- The Result Intelligence feature — including the scoring logic, contextual interpretation system, and colour-coded result bands.
- The Scenario Compare feature — including the side-by-side comparison interface and its implementation.
- All calculator logic implementations — including formula derivations, edge-case handling, rounding strategies, and derived content such as educational explanations, result summaries, and contextual tips.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from CalcDom calculators, design elements, or source code without prior written permission from CalcDom.
■ Content License
CalcDom grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms.
With respect to calculation results, you may:
- Take screenshots of results for personal reference or sharing.
- Print result pages for your own planning purposes.
- Share results with friends, family, or colleagues with attribution to CalcDom.
- Use results in personal financial or health planning decisions.
You may not:
- Present CalcDom results as certified professional advice, licensed calculations, or official figures from a regulated institution.
- Remove, obscure, or alter CalcDom attribution when sharing or publishing results externally.
■ Affiliate Links
Some pages on CalcDom contain affiliate links to financial products, services, or resources. When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action (such as signing up for a product or making a purchase), CalcDom may earn a referral commission or fee from the linked provider. This is at no additional cost to you.
The presence of affiliate links never affects the accuracy, logic, or results of any CalcDom calculator. Calculation results are entirely independent of commercial relationships. We do not bias results in favour of any affiliate partner.
We disclose affiliate relationships where applicable and in accordance with applicable advertising standards, including FTC guidelines for US users and ASA guidelines for UK users.
■ Third-Party Links
CalcDom links to third-party resources for user reference, including:
- Government tax portals (incometaxindia.gov.in, irs.gov, gov.uk/tax)
- Financial institutions and product providers
- Health and medical reference sources (WHO, NIH, NHS)
- Real estate regulatory bodies and government property portals
These links are provided for convenience and reference only. CalcDom does not control the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third-party website. The inclusion of a link does not constitute an endorsement by CalcDom. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy and terms of any third-party site you visit.
■ User Conduct
We ask all users to engage with CalcDom responsibly. In addition to the prohibitions listed above, you agree not to:
- Submit harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or illegal content through any contact forms or feedback mechanisms on the site.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of CalcDom's systems or infrastructure without authorisation.
- Introduce malicious code, viruses, or any technology that may harm the service or other users.
- Impersonate CalcDom, its team, or any other person in connection with the service.
■ API Terms (Placeholder)
A public CalcDom API is planned for Phase 2 of the platform. When available, the API will allow developers to programmatically access selected calculator functions for integration into their own applications, tools, and workflows.
API access will be governed by separate API Terms of Service, which will include:
- Rate limits and fair-use quotas per API key
- Attribution requirements for results displayed via the API
- Potentially a paid tier for high-volume or commercial API usage
- Restrictions on using API results in regulated or professional advice contexts
Until the API is formally launched and documented, any programmatic access to CalcDom is subject to these general Terms of Service. Automated bulk access remains prohibited under the Prohibited Use section above.
■ Warranty Disclaimer
CalcDom is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CalcDom expressly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
- That the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- That calculation results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose.
- That the service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
- Any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- That any errors or defects in the service will be corrected within any particular time frame.
■ Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CalcDom and its owners, operators, employees, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of — or inability to use — the service. This includes but is not limited to:
- Financial losses or investment decisions made in reliance on calculator results
- Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunity
- Errors in tax, health, real estate, or financial estimates shown by calculators
- Service outages, scheduled maintenance, or unplanned downtime
- Harm arising from reliance on any third-party content or links provided on the platform
Since CalcDom is a free service and you pay nothing to use it, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $0.00 (zero dollars) — the amount you paid to use this service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
■ Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CalcDom and its owners, operators, employees, contributors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debts, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of or access to CalcDom in violation of these terms
- Your reliance on calculator results to make decisions that cause harm to yourself or others
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights or privacy rights
- Content you submit through the service that is unlawful, harmful, or defamatory
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms and your use of the service.
■ Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to CalcDom at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms of Service. Since CalcDom requires no user account, “termination” in practice means blocking access to the website by IP address, device fingerprint, or other technical means.
We also reserve the right to discontinue, modify, restrict, or suspend any part of the service — or the service in its entirety — at any time without liability to you. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of planned service discontinuation where possible.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Warranty Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law — will continue to apply after termination.
■ Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time to reflect changes in the law, our services, or our operating practices. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised to reflect the effective date of the new version.
For material changes — such as significant new restrictions, changes to liability provisions, or the introduction of paid features — we may provide additional notice via a site banner or other prominent means.
Your continued use of CalcDom after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the service immediately. We recommend checking this page periodically if you are a regular user.
■ Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You agree that any disputes arising from or related to these Terms, or from your use of CalcDom, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, these Terms do not limit or exclude any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your own jurisdiction:
- EU users: Your rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, GDPR, and applicable national consumer protection law are not affected.
- UK users: Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, and other applicable UK consumer law are not affected.
- US users: Your rights under applicable US federal and state consumer protection statutes — including California's CCPA where applicable — are not affected.
